Planet or Venus

Sorry developers for asking this on a developers list,
but i tried to make it simple and asked Sam Ruby twice
via email since he seems to be the main developer, but
never got a response.

What are the differences between

http://intertwingly.net/code/planet/

AND

http://intertwingly.net/code/venus/ which includes
http://intertwingly.net/code/venus/planet/ planet?

I can' t see significant differences/advantages.

I am asking you this as a user. Maybe there is some
sort of information page somewhere for non-developers,
but i couldn' t locate that page.
